Happy weekend from the Tarawarra Abbey monastery where I’m currently on retreat. The excerpt in image #2 is from William of St.Thierry (12th century) from his Golden Epistle, a book of advice to novice monks.
Monasteries the world over can be very welcoming to outsiders, offer accommodation and meals and often have spectacular grounds :)
Pax infinita (infinite peace),

‘Tarrawarra Abbey is a community of Cistercian monks in the heart of the Yarra Valley, 60 kilometres north-east of the city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1954 by Mount St Joseph Abbey, Roscrea in Ireland, the monks of Tarrawarra belong to the worldwide Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance (OCSO), popularly known as the “Trappists”.’
